  • Electronic Frontier Foundation

In a stunning reversal, the Obama Administration has decided to continue the cover-up of the Bush Administration's warrantless wiretapping program. EFF has been fighting to hold the government and telcos accountable for this illegal surveillance since 2005. Now, the Obama Administration is asking a court to throw out their latest lawsuit challenging the NSA's dragnet spying, this one against the government directly. This attempt to shield the surveillance program from court scrutiny is a stark reminder that eternal vigilance is the price of liberty, no matter who is sitting in the Oval Office.

  • Broadband Coalition
    http://www.bb4us.net/

The United States is at a critical juncture. Too many Americans still do not have access to affordable broadband or lack the equipment or knowledge to use it effectively. If the United States is to remain a leader in the global economy, our broadband networks must also be robust enough to enable our people, businesses, and public and private institutions to take full advantage of emerging and future bandwidth-intensive and quality-sensitive applications.

  • Congress: Read the Bill First!
    http://bsd.sunlightfoundation.com/page/petition/ReadItFirst/

Sunlight has long advocated that all legislation be posted online for at least 72 hours before consideration in the House and Senate. Posting bills online for 72 hours before consideration would give lawmakers and citizens alike an opportunity to consider and debate bills with full knowledge and consideration of the implications of the legislation with considered feedback from the public.
