About the Software:

Aristotle offers its software in desktop form and ASP (application service provider) form, meaning it is accessible via the Internet with no installation required. The company’s Campaign Manager product comes in both formats, and is used by clients to personalize fundraising letters, print labels and envelopes, produce postcards, sort print mailings by household, and print barcodes and carrier routes. The firm’s online fundraising software, CampaignContribution.com, creates customized fundraising forms, generates online reports, and automatically checks contributor names against Aristotle’s nationwide voter file for U.S. citizenship confirmation.
For issue advocacy, clients use Aristotle’s GR Manager software which allows them to mail-merge letters and emails, automate letter writing to elected officials, develop messaging such as newsletters and brochures, track volunteer participation, and perform zip code-to-district matching as well as legislative data matching.
PACs use Aristotle’s PAC Manager product for electronic FEC and state reporting, database management, mail-merging letters and email, and conducting ecommerce transactions. In addition, Aristotle offers PAC and grassroots consulting services, online advertising services, and its Constituent Service software assists public officials in tracking constituent mail and casework.
The company's chief technology officer, Peter Kelly, says Aristotle has been keeping up with the need for greater interoperability of data services, and starting three years ago "we decided to make interoperability a key feature of a completely new suite of software products such that ours would be able to work well with other vendors in the market, especially with those who provide value added services." He says, "We began to rebuild all of our products from the ground up in a way that would allow them to 'work and play well with others.'" Client Quick-take:
  • New York Governor Eliot Spitzer used Aristotle’s tools for fundraising and FEC compliance work during his 2006 campaign.
  • Dads and Daughters, a nonprofit organization that provides men with tools to be better fathers, has used Aristotle’s tools for online fundraising.
Client Close-up:

Aristotle has been quick to respond to an industry-wide need for interoperability among software vendors. In addition to several services that allow for the exchange of data between organizations, Aristotle has recently unveiled Aristotle 360, a database designed to accommodate data from an enormous variety of sources by capturing the myriad data points utilized across the industry. It was designed to be largely data-driven so that the applications that interact with it can determine a great many of the operational attributes and metadata as they evolve.
