Registering to Vote Could Not Be Easier

You may have recently heard a site called about txvoter.org, which is organizing the first-ever text-message-based voter registration campaign. If not, here's some background.

Now, along with Working Assets, the group has developed an ultra-simple way to register to vote. Govote.org asks users to follow a four-step process and print and mail in an automatically filled out form (the printing and mailing might lose some people).

The site has clever -- though not explicit -- tie-ins to both Working Assets and Txtvoter. Courtesy of Txtvoter, a sidebar lets you send emails and text messages to family friends to encourage them to get registered. And if you're interested in volunteering, you can sign up to be notified when opportunities appear in your area -- a service that Working Assets happened to pioneer with its Volunteer for Change effort.
