Michael McGeary is the co-founder and Chief Political Strategist of Engine Advocacy, a non-profit based in San Francisco, working to connect startups with government to effect change on issues important to high-growth entrepreneurial tech businesses. Previously, he worked with Silicon Valley startup TuneIn as their social brand ambassador and evangelist, as well as stints with two Presidential campaigns, and work with a leading California law firm specializing in political compliance and disclosure. A Gloucester, Massachusetts native, he holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Tufts University, and resides with his wife, Sarah, and son, Jack, in Alameda, California.
Michael Simon is Co-founder & CEO of Elucd, a govtech technology startup backed by Y Combinator and Omidyar Network and based in New York City. Elucd partners with cities to improve policing by implementing new systems of performance management centered around measuring and improving community trust of police – starting with New York City.
Previously, he established and managed the first-of-its-kind in-house analytics department for Barack Obama’s groundbreaking campaign for President of the United States, served in the Obama Administration, where he worked on the Affordable Care Act, and founded HaystaqDNA, a data science consultancy.

His partner, Liz Simon, is General Counsel at General Assembly, and his newborn son, Levi, is adorable and recently started sleeping through the night.

He’s passionate about pragmatic approaches to using the Internet and IT for social good, and fiercely believes in openness, transparency, knowledge sharing and all things free (as in freedom, not free beer). He’s a Co-founder of the CiviCRM project, an open source constituent relationship management (CRM) software for non-profits. He’s also a founding member of a few organisations, among them Association 61 and the Warsaw Hackerspace Association, as well as a regular member and adviser to many others. He’s a frequent co-organiser and facilitator of good old- (or new?) fashioned face-to-face participatory events like hackathons, code sprints, book sprints, etc.
Miguel Arana Catania is the director of citizen participation of the Madrid City Council, where the international participation project Consul (www.consulproject.org) is developed. He has worked designing and implementing digital tools and participation strategies in innovation laboratories as Medialab-Prado, European projects such as D-CENT and in different political spaces such as Ahora Madrid or the 15M movement.

His clients have included the Republican National Committee, the Bush-Cheney campaigns of 2000 and 2004, plus numerous other statewide campaigns, national organizations and grassroot efforts. Mike also advises international leaders and provides online strategy to help emerging democracies and post-conflict nations around the globe.
Mike Krempasky is the political director for American Target Advertising, a conservative direct mail firm, founded by conservative activist pioneer Richard Viguerie. He co-founded RedState.org, Rathergate.com, and NotSpecter.com. He would have tolerated a Kerry presidency in exchange for a Steelers Super Bowl win.
[2006] Mike Krempasky joined Edelman in August 2005 as Vice President, focusing on internet strategy and communications, marketing, and advocacy for Edelman clients. He was responsible for the development and launch of the first blog for the largest corporation in the United States.Mike combines an expertise in blog communications and direct marketing with a background in grassroots political organizing. Before coming to Edelman, Mike was the Political Director of American Target Advertising, a full-service creative direct response marketing agency where he helped companies and organizations develop and use technology to enhance traditional fundraising and advocacy programs.
Mike is the co-founder of RedState.org (http://www.redstate.org), a Republican community blog. Mike is also a Director of the RedState.org corporation, a political committee registered with the Federal Election Commission. He has been a blogger since 2001, and in that capacity, testified before the FEC earlier this year on the regulation of political speech on the internet and became one of the first bloggers called to offer expert testimony before a Committee in the House of Representatives.
He is the co-founder of The Online Coalition (http://www.onlinecoalition.com), a bipartisan association of bloggers and online professionals formed earlier this year to support freedom of speech and political participation online. Mike is a frequent lecturer at technology and internet seminars.
