Anil Dash is cofounder and CEO of ThinkUp, the creators of Makerbase, a directory of apps and websites and the people who create them, and ThinkUp, which offers fun personal insights into social media activity. Dash is also cofounder of Activate, the consultancy which defines strategy for the most important companies in technology and media. Described as a “blogging pioneer” by the New Yorker, he has published his blog at anildash.com continuously since 1999, earning recognition as a Webby honoree. In 2013, Time named @anildash one of the best accounts on Twitter, and some of its half million followers agree.

Ann Lewis

Ann Lewis is the CTO of MoveOn.org. She is a technical leader, architect, and active coder with 15 years of experience in software engineering and software management, with a focus on distributed systems and scalability. In her work at MoveOn, she has in-housed tech and hired a tech team, modernized and upgraded MoveOn’s software stack, created and scaled up new systems for MoveOn’s 2016 election tech program and 2017 Resistance programs, and recently co-ran and launched a rebranding effort across all MoveOn web properties. From her vantage point, the worlds of tech and politics aren’t connected enough. This creates opportunities for new collaborations, bringing in best practices from the world of tech to the world of politics and organizing. She’s also interested in bringing best practices from progressive organizing into the tech world, to ensure that the new economies and systems of power that the tech industry is creating are fair and equitable, and that people power can hold both governments and tech accountable.

Anna Galland

Anna Galland is Executive Director of MoveOn.org Civic Action, the grassroots progressive organization whose millions of members organize together to make this country a place where everyone can thrive.

A native of Evanston, Illinois, she has led issue advocacy and electoral campaigns at MoveOn since 2007, including working to end the Iraq War, supporting Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns, helping to pass the Affordable Care Act, defending Pres. Obama’s diplomatic agreement with Iran, boosting Bernie Sanders’ remarkable presidential run, and working to defeat Donald Trump. Under the Trump Administration, MoveOn has emerged as a pillar of the vibrant Resistance movement.

Working closely with MoveOn Political Action’s Executive Director, Ilya Sheyman, she has overseen MoveOn’s growth and development since 2013— tripling MoveOn’s budget, growing its grassroots membership and reach, and launching innovative new programs to harness technology and people-power, including an open petition platform that’s supported tens of thousands of grassroots-led campaigns and a VideoLab that’s driven more than 300 million views to original progressive content.

She has three young children and lives in the Chicago area.

Anna Kuliberda

Anna Kuliberda is a freedom of information, open-data and democracy innovations enthusiast and educator involved in multiple grass-roots initiatives; member of a Citizens Network – Watchdog Poland and of the Supervisory Board of ePF, for more than 2 years now involved in a tech for transparency in the Balkans program of Techsoup Europe. She has also cooperated with Civis Polonus Foundation and Semper Avanti Association on involving youth in public life and is currently volunteering in Zašto ne (Why Not), a Sarajevo-based nongovernmental organization.

Anna Ladoshkina is a web designer, developer and developers’ team lead in Teplitsa of Social Technology. She is working primarily in the non-profit sector helping organizations and individuals to be more effective in their work through having beautiful and usable websites and web apps. She is a great fan of social and open technologies and shares her experience on the web actively in articles and blogposts.

Anna Mazgal

Anna Mazgal is a Polish NGO professional that has worked with numerous Polish and international organizations on the issues of policy, advocacy, strategy and cross-sectoral synergies. Currently she holds a position of Program Director for Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia at Trust for Civil Society in Central and Eastern Europe, a major regional US-based private grantmaker. She is also a member of Civic Legislative Forum, a cross-sectoral expert group advocating for a greater, transparent inclusion of citizens into law-making processes and for improving the quality of law-making through introduction of evidence-based methodology and regulatory impact assessment. From 2005 until winter 2012 Anna has been cooperating with the National Federation of Polish NGOs OFOP, an umbrella organization representing civil sector organizations in Poland. In years 2009 – 2011, while holding the position of International Officer there, she served as the president of European Network of National Associations ENNA and was a member of Steering Committee for Affinity Group of National Associations at CIVICUS Global Alliance for Citizen Participation.

Anna Sienicka

Anna is responsible for the strategic direction of TechSoup in Europe. Prior to that Anna worked in the the Foundation for Social and Economic Initiatives. She has also held a position of the head of the legal group of the Council for Public Benefit Work and was a member on the Polish Prime Minister’s Social Economy Task Force.

Annabel ​produces videos and organizes online communities. Her goal is to produce content and create platforms that engage the public in deliberative discussions. She currently contributes to act.tv as a video producer and is finishing up Story of America, a YouTube series and a feature-length documentary about her travels exploring America’s political divide and the need for racial reconciliation.

Her previous project​s include the Coffee Party movement and ​​9500 Liberty​, a​ ​documentary YouTube series and a​ critically acclaimed feature film about the culture war over immigration policy. ​ ​She studied philosophy at Boston University and then politics at Oxford University as a Marshall Scholar. ​ She grew up in South Korea, Texas and Maryland.

Annafi Wahed

Annafi Wahed, CFA, spent 4 years in finance before leaving her job in NYC to campaign for Democratic party candidates in NH. Walking door to door, she saw firsthand how even next-door neighbors could be completely isolated from one another by the news they consume. In the months following the election, as talk of “fake news” and media bias became commonplace, Annafi set out to burst her own media bubble and the bubbles of those around her. She founded TheFlipSide.io in early 2017.

Anne Bundgaard Christensen is a Web Editor at the European Commission responsible for promoting the main portal europa.eu via social media platforms, developing social media policy, staff guidelines and strategy, organising training and networking events, creating editorial guidelines and assisting Commission colleagues, cabinets and spokespeople in using social media for EU communication. Prior to this she was working at DG Information Society and Media, the European Commission’s internship programme and was a Board member of the National Union of Students in Denmark, as well as being employed by the Danish Scouts. Before this she was a cartoonist for the Studenterrådet/HUMavisen paper and a Board Member of Aarhus University. She holds a Masters in Information Studies and a BA in Information Studies and European Studies.

Anne Wizorek

Anne Wizorek is the founder and editor-in-chief of kleinerdrei.org, a German blog about feminism, politics, media criticism, nerdery and pop culture, whose content is driven by <3. Wizorek’s activism focuses on education around rape culture and gender equity, and she uses online tools to achieve offline social change.

In 2011, Wizorek was part of a team that brought the Slutwalk protest to Berlin. Most recently, she started the highly visible #aufschrei (#outcry) Twitter hashtag movement, which brings everyday sexism and sexual harassment to light.

Wizorek is a former co-organizer of re:publica, Germany’s premier online/social media conference. When she isn’t busy making the world a better place, Wizorek advises corporations and non-profits on social media strategies as a freelance digital media consultant.

Annie Levene manages and executes digital fundraising and advertising programs for national non-profits, Democratic committees, and top-tier candidates. In 2014, she served as chief digital strategist on the DGA’s winning Independent Expenditure in Connecticut on behalf of Governor Dan Malloy and was the lead digital strategist behind the highest earning digital program by a non-incumbent Democratic challenger. During her time at Rising Tide Interactive, Annie has provided strategic direction and generated unprecedented return on investment for clients such as the Democratic Governors Association, Senator Chris Coons, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, and Senator Tim Kaine. Annie also executed all fundraising and persuasion advertising for Heidi Heitkamp’s winning U.S. Senate race. Annie holds a BA in English from the University of Michigan.

Annmarie Levins is the General Manager for Microsoft’s Technology & Civic Engagement Group. Her team works with the civic tech community, government leaders, and other community stakeholders to bring creative approaches and technology to address society’s most pressing challenges. She founded the Innovation & Policy Center at Microsoft’s New England Research & Development Center (NERD) in Cambridge, which focuses on technology, law, and policy, and serves on the boards of numerous tech-related organizations. Her teams are based in Boston, Chicago, New York, Seattle, and the San Francisco Bay Area. Annmarie received a BA from Brown University and a PhD in politics from Princeton University.

Anthea Watson Strong

Anthea is a technologist and community organizer working at the intersection of the internet and urban systems. Anthea is part of Google’s Civic Innovation team, building products that facilitate civic engagement, open societies and free expression across digital platforms.

During the 2012 campaign cycle, Anthea worked as the Director of Voter Experience with the Obama technology team. On the Obama campaign, Anthea product managed voter engagement and volunteer management tools. Prior to joining the campaign, she ran the Voting Information Project. This project is an effort to collect, standardize and distribute, through an open API, a nationwide database of polling locations and election related information. The API received 22 million look-ups in 2012 and was used by Google, AT&T, Microsoft, Foursquare, CNN and Politics-360 among many others.

Before getting her start in civic technology after attending PDF in 2009, Anthea worked as a lawyer in the House of Representatives as well as for several years in the field on political and issue campaigns.

Anthony Hamelle is Director at Applied Works, a London-based digital and technology studio that is driven by curiosity and a desire to enlighten.
Working at the forefront of data journalism with The Times or the BBC, helping think tanks and NGOs such as Chatham House or the Mo Ibrahim Foundation tell stories with data, Applied Works has developed a strong expertise around the simplification and narration of complex issues.

A London School of Economics and Political Science graduate in Law, Anthony’s career spans opinion research, public affairs (Havas), social media research (linkfluence) and advertising (BBDO).
An associate lecturer at the Sorbonne University and Sciences Po Paris, he has worked on several public interest (French 2010 Retirement Reform) and political campaigns (Digital Director for Dominique de Villepin 2012).
